Maha Ganapathi Homam
Performed at the start of every day — for new ventures, weddings, examinations and to clear obstacles before they have a chance to form.
Twenty-Two Atharvana Veda fire rituals performed at our temple in Tirunelveli — book online, attend over live darshan, receive prasadam by post.
"Homam" is a ritual in which offerings are made into a sacred fire. The root word is Ha — meaning "offering" or "sacrifice" in Sanskrit. Just as the five elements exist in the cosmos around us, they dwell inside the human body as well.
Inside each being, Agni (fire) exists in two forms: as Jatara-agni — the digestive fire of the physical body — and as Bhoota-agni — the internal spiritual fire of the subtle body. In most people, Jatara-agni burns brightly while Bhoota-agni smoulders dim. The yogi, through sadhana, converts Jatara-agni into Bhoota-agni — which is why a realised soul feels no hunger and can sustain divinity within.
When a yogi performs nama, japa, mantra, and offerings to a deity, the deity enters the Bhoota-agni and receives the offering directly. Because the ordinary person's Bhoota-agni burns poorly, we make use of an external sacred fire — invoking the deity into it so the deity may receive the offerings and, in return, fulfil the righteous desire of the person who performs the homam.
Beyond its spiritual dimension, homam is a purifying process: the offerings — ghee, herbs, grains, wood — when burned in the prescribed manner, are understood to revitalise and cleanse both the environment and the subtle atmosphere of the home.
"Om Hreem Bagalamukhi — still the speech of all hostile forces, paralyse their movement and actions."
Every homam at our temple is performed under the guidance of
Rajaguru Brahmasri Sri Sri Suryan Namboothiry SwamijiAtharvana Veda · Prasana Sastra · 40+ Years of Practice
The external sacred fire acts as proxy for the subtle inner fire — enabling the deity to receive offerings directly through the priest's invocation.
Vedic mantras chanted during the homam carry precise vibrations that invoke, sustain and satisfy the presiding deity for the duration of the ritual.
Your name, nakshatra and gothram are read aloud — the sankalp binds the ritual's benefit specifically to you and your family, not to a generic offering.
Three distinct modes of worship — each suited to a different need and scale. Choosing the right one matters.

Performed at the start of every day — for new ventures, weddings, examinations and to clear obstacles before they have a chance to form.
For relief from family difficulties, delays and obstacles, financial pressure and stress. The temple's principal monthly remedy — performed for divine protection, peace and steady blessings.
For prosperity, business progress, financial stability and growth. Performed in sequence with Ganapathi Homam and Jyeshtha Devi Pooja.
Pithru shanthi — ancestor peace ritual. The traditional remedy when restlessness persists at home without clear cause, performed on Amavasya.
Recurring Amavasya + Pournami package — your sankalp is included in both monthly rituals; prasadam dispatched after each. No per-event booking needed.
Performed to invoke divine blessings for good health, prosperity, happiness, protection, and overall well-being.
These remedial rituals are personalized to your birth chart (Kundali). Begin with a consultation — Swamiji reviews your horoscope, identifies the active dosha or karmic indicator, and schedules the appropriate homam. The same ritual does not suit every native — the chart decides.
For activation of dormant raja yoga combinations in the horoscope — bringing authority, recognition and the auspicious flowering of latent leadership. Performed for those whose charts carry raja yoga but whose results have yet to manifest.
Sovereign-blessing yagam invoking dominion across the three worlds (bhuh, bhuvah, svah). Performed for ascendancy in public, family and spiritual spheres — and for protection against opposition at every level.
To befriend one's own mind. Performed for those struggling with mental restlessness, anxiety, or conflict between thought and action — calms the chitta and aligns the manas with one's higher intention.
For marital harmony and conjugal happiness. Performed for couples seeking deeper bonding, resolution of long-standing discord, or removal of obstacles in the spousal alignment.
For parental influence and harmony with one's children — guiding rebellious or distant children back into the family's care. Performed by parents seeking their children's attention, respect and willing presence in family matters.
Dissolution of hostile influence — court matters, professional rivalry and prolonged opposition. Performed on Amavasya evening.
Marriage delay remedy — performed to remove obstacles blocking a suitable life-partner and to invoke Devi's grace for an auspicious match.
Wealth retention and business stability — performed per Thaanthric Vidhi to attract and hold financial prosperity in the household.
Fortune and destiny activation — invokes the Bhagya Suktha hymns to awaken dormant auspiciousness in the horoscope.

Harmony and communication in relationships — dissolves friction between family members, colleagues and partners through the Samvada Suktha hymns.
Husband-related dosha remedy — performed for the well-being, protection and longevity of the husband as prescribed in Thaanthric Vidhi.
Spouse and marriage dosha remedy — addresses planetary afflictions in the 7th house that delay, disturb or damage the marital relationship.
Health and life-force restoration — the Sanjeevani (life-restoring) invocation performed for those facing prolonged illness or depleted vitality.
Dasa Mahavidya protection ritual — Dhumavati, the seventh Mahavidya, grants deep protection against unseen forces, black energy and persistent ill-will.
Sovereignty and leadership — the grand Rajasooya (royal consecration) Mahaayagam performed annually; multi-day ritual for authority and direction in life.
Grand thousand-offering ritual — Sahasra (thousand) offerings made with full Atharvana Veda chanting; the temple's most expansive annual yagam.
Beyond the 18 standard rituals, the temple performs Parihara commitments — extended ritual cycles lasting 48 days to 6 months, performed for devotees with deep-rooted afflictions requiring sustained spiritual intervention. These cannot be booked online — they require direct consultation with Swamiji to determine suitability, duration, and procedure.
Parihara performers receive complimentary accommodation at the temple's hospitality block for the duration of their commitment. Travel + meals are coordinated by the temple office.
Consult Swamiji for a Parihara PlanEvery Poornima morning, the temple performs four rituals in a single unbroken sequence — opening with Ganapathi for auspicious beginnings and closing with Kubera for material grace. Sankalp is taken for all four together.
The ritual opens with Ganapathi Homam for the removal of obstacles and an auspicious beginning. Without Ganesha's grace, no subsequent ritual takes root.
Worship of Jyeshtha Devi to dissolve adverse conditions and stabilise the household before invoking prosperity. The pacifying preface to the prosperity invocation.
The yagam itself — sacred fire offerings to Kubera for growth, business progress, financial stability and material support flowing toward the devotee's purpose.
Beyond the scheduled homams, Swamiji's lineage offers personal Prasana Sastra horoscope readings — the ancient art of interpreting the living query, not just the birth chart. A Prasana reading is often more immediate: it answers the precise question you are carrying right now.
Consultations cover marriage timing and horoscope matching, career direction and planetary periods (dasha), nakshatra dosha and planetary remediation, and personal sadhana guidance suited to your rashi and nakshatra. Most consultations happen over WhatsApp video after the devotee submits their date, time and place of birth, along with the specific question.
Swamiji has guided seekers across India, the Gulf, Singapore, the UK and the US — politicians, industrialists and ordinary householders alike — for over four decades.
