Temple Life

Activities at the Temple

Daily rhythm and periodic seva that keep the Peetam's mission alive — in the sanctum, in the kitchen, and in the classroom.

Daily Archana

From Suprabatham at 5:00 AM to Sandhya Deepa at 6:30 PM, every day at the sanctum follows the same disciplined sequence — abhishekam, alankaram, naivedyam and aarati. Devotees can sponsor an archana in their gothram and nakshatra; we record the sankalp and pass it on to the priests.

Amavasya Yagam

The cornerstone of the temple's monthly calendar — performed every New Moon night to dissolve accumulated doshas. The Sarvadosha Shanthi Yaagam runs for four hours from 6 PM with extended mantra japa and purnahuti. Sankalp accepted online; livestream available.

Annadhaanam Seva

The kitchen feeds every visiting devotee free of charge during the morning hours, and offers full-meal annadhaanam on Amavasya and Pournami days. Sponsoring an annadhaanam in memory of a loved one is one of the most-requested family sevas.

Gho-Sala

The temple gho-sala (cow shelter) cares for native breeds whose milk and ghee are used directly in the daily abhishekam and homam offerings. Devotees can contribute towards feed, veterinary care, or sponsor a cow's monthly seva.

Vedic Pathshala

Young students learn Sanskrit recitation, Atharvana Veda procedure and ritual conduct under the guidance of senior acharyas. The pathshala preserves the lineage's procedural knowledge for the next generation of temple priests.

Mantra Diksha

Personal mantra initiation is offered by Swamiji to qualified devotees who seek a sustained sadhana practice. Diksha is granted on appointment after a one-on-one consultation; the mantra given is matched to the devotee's nakshatra and inclination.
